Hailstones are a distinct hazard to windscreens. Unlike a one-off stone ricocheting towards you, hailstones are a repeated force. If driving during a hail storm, again, reduce speed or else find shelter.
Activity Around the Car
If you park your car in a public space, you have little control over the surrounding movement. Obvious dangers are sports and games being played in the vicinity. If your car is parked in your driveway, make sure to monitor any play or sports activity. Putting your car in the garage is the safest option.
Changing some simple habits in these high-risk situations could well save you the cost of a new windscreen. A chip can easily develop into a crack if left untended.
