I Like Driving in my Car

Hello, my name is David. Welcome to my blog. There is nothing I like more than hitting the open road and going for a drive in my car. I have always loved everything to do with automobiles. When I was a boy, I had a collection of 208 different toy cars which I would play with all day long. As soon as I was old enough, I began taking driving lessons and the day I passed was the best day of my life. Although I am not a mechanic, my dad taught me lots of neat tricks so I can keep my car in top condition. I hope you enjoy my blog.

Parts Of A Broken Auto That You Can Make Some Money From

Automotive Blog

In the majority of cases, a person who has an auto that is at the end of its life will sell it in one piece to a scrap yard. However, there are quite a few things of value on such an auto; if the vehicle is broken down, and sold separately. This can take a bit of time and effort, but it is possible to get a decent amount of money back. Let's take a look at the most valuable pieces of an auto to sell.

Battery

The first thing to remove and sell is the auto battery. You can sell it to an auto garage, or advertise in in the local paper, or on popular websites. Even if you have a dead battery, a garage will still buy it off you, and recycle it.

Fuel

If you have a full tank of fuel, you can make some of the money back you paid when filling it up. While it is difficult to sell this fuel, you can use it in your other vehicles, enabling you to save some cash. If you don't have a manual pump used to siphon fuel from an auto, see if you can borrow one, instead of buying one; it will likely be used just the one time.

Radio

Most people have a CD system and radio in their autos, remember to remove this and sell it as well. Often, the CD player and radio will be one of the highest priced items in the vehicle. You can sell any speakers you have as well.

Basic Parts

Once the radio, fuel and battery have been removed, you can now remove the other basic parts with a view to selling them. Items that generally sell well include:

  • Seats and seat covers
  • Steering wheels
  • Gearsticks
  • Windshield wipers, including the rear one
  • Tires, if in a decent condition

Strip The Rest

Once the accessories have been removed and sold, you can begin to really take the vehicle apart. Remove the doors, hood and boot as these areas are the most commonly scratched or dented in collisions. The same applies to the bumpers, front and rear. You can remove the vehicle's wiring too, as a fair amount of copper is used to make the wiring, and this is one of the most valuable metals to recycle. Finally, you can sell on the scrap metal in the body of the auto.

You will need a variety of tools and equipment to help you remove and dismantle the auto fully. For more information, contact Eagle Wrecking.
